Trailers for the games shown on the MTV special - May 13, 2005 00:24
The special presentation was a bit of a downer since i wanted to see the games more then the console...They said they are all for the software and not as much about the hardware right? Neways the MTV site has trailers for all the games that were barly shown.

Are you saying that you did not enjoy the MTV special? It had " celebrities" and bands that played music and lots of stuff that had nothing to do with games! That' s how we market here in America. Aren' t we friggin' brilliant?

Hello, i don' t have a Xbox but i was anxious to see this new incarnation although i hate the name i think it' s lame. I just call it the Xbox 2 i am not going to call it the 360 everytime i like short names and acronyms like PS2 or GC or GBA. Anywho the show barely even showed the system twice and they didn' t even talk about it. Plus i thought the band sucked. Why was there even a band singing songs that had NOTHING to so with the Xbox 360. It was just a lame overhyped commercial nothing we didn' t already know and yes it has a powerful inside but the games didn' t look or feel any different then the XBox 1. They said it' s goign to change gaming forever. With a name like Xbox 360 and seeing how the Xbox 1 didn' t do very good are just just going to do a full circle fail again? I was actually looking forward to this special for them to be like E3 and talk about it and show off it' s features and game clips which they were barely like what 2 second clips. I think this show actually hurt them rather then helped them. I have read comments on other sites that people are less impressed now then before because it was like tryign to make it seem cool and flashy without even showing it and just using celebrities. It was all hype. All that power doesn' t mean anythign without the games and i am a RPG person so we will see.

Just watched the xbox 360 launch party and it was awful. It was basically two fairly average bands playing a total of five songs with Elijah Wood presenting. The actual xbox 360 related stuff didn' t last more than 3 minutes, with a girl taking an xbox 360 out of her bag, an advert and then J. Allard and Peter Moore talking about the console for a minute or two. They didn' t even show any games! Crap.

like i said the overhyped crap they aired has done more harm then good. I was actually anxious to see it and i am not even a Xbox fan. I love RPGs and strategy and puzzle games which the Xbox doesn' t. ALl they seem to care about is FPS, sports, and racing. Which so not interest me. The only thing that has caught my interest is Mistwalker doing 2 exclusive RPGs for Xbox 2.

Lack of RPGs is quite true. However, you cant deny that the RPGs on the system are pretty damn good.

-Fable (not quite to the level said but still unique)
-KoTOR and KoTOR 2
-Elder Scrolls III:Morrowind
-Jade Empire
-Bards Tale (maybe I dunno I havet played it)

Maybe Next Gen will up that roster. Fable 2 and Elder Scrolls 4 are pretty much set.

As for the special on MTV, it may have been dumb to the casual and hardcore gamers but to the ppl who veiw gaming at nothing saw what they needed to see and at least their interests our peaked. Most gamers know that the majority of info and media will showup more online in much bigger quantities.

yeah don' t get me wrong there are some cool games like Kotor and Ninja Gaiden and psychonauts which is suppsoe to be really cool and Jade empire. I hear Kotor 2 was no where near as good as 1 because it was a different team. But i don' t have themoney right now to buy a Xbox plus i was just thinking i should maybe wait for the Xbox 2 thinking it wil be backwards compatible but since they keep dodging the question i am becoming more certain that it isn' t.

I was watching the MTV show on me laptop while riding the train last night and, Well in my lame attempt to try and put a positive spin on the MTV Xbox360 Reveal, I' ll say that for both hardcore and other gamers who play games quite regularly the show was indeed a bit of a downer, BUT I can' t deny that the show did exude some energy and was done well enough to appeal to the casual crowd.

The show moved pretty quickly and packed in a lot of content for what was only a 20 minute show, hehe.. Granted, had they axed the stupid band playing and the annoying celebrities, that extra time could have been used to lengthen some of the other more needy segments a bit, particularly the game footage!

When that girl was carrying the Xbox360 console down to the platform to unveil it to viewers did you guys catch the camera quickly panning over to her a$$ as she walked up to the platform? LOL.. That' s when I knew for sure I was watching MTV..

Personally my favorite part of the show was the Evolution of the Xbox360 design. They showed what seemed to be every friggin prototype 360 design, some of those designs would have you thinking, " WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING???" - while others were kinda nice.. I' m still not certain as to which prototype I liked best, I' ll have to post some pics of em all later ;)

On a final note, don' t know if it' s been mentioned already but did anyone notice that giant green swirl in the background and immediately think, DREAMCAST?? lol..
