Hmmm...Billy Joe Bob knows what I look like now. So that means that I can' t talk trash to him or piss him off by doing evil in game things. Is it a pro or a con to have that eye toy camera? Cause if you piss someone off real bad, you might see your picture posted on a game forum saying that you should be banned immediately when invited to a game or other nonsense. Some ppl take thier games too seriously and don' t realize that it' s just a game and anything goes. However, if you cheat, steal or backstab someone that could be a different story.

I wonder who will actually stand the thing on its side like that? The only people I know who stood their PS2 on its side were morons. I do know one guy who started doing that but then quickly converted to the CORRECT way soon enough. Standing the unit on its side has done a lot to help scratch up PS2 discs pretty bad. I' ve seen it happen. But since MS obviously wants to damage the discs, they should have added a slot-loading drive to help damage the discs even more.

Otherwise my opinions on the design is... it' s ok. Nothing special. I bet Adam has orgasms over it, though. :)

I actually found after some fooling around once that it made less noise on it' s side too. As to the xbox threesixty, well it looked better in the other shots. Do you enjoy using your PS2 incorrectly? I think you' re just lucky. I' ve seen warning signs at a few different videogame shops saying " Don' t stand your PS2 on its side or else THIS will be the result!" and they have a disc that is pretty scratched up laying there. To get my PS1 to work, I must stand it on its side or usually upside down or it won' t even read the discs. To determine if you are a moron or not, the answer is simple: Did you buy the vertical stand? I sure hope not, because it stays up just fine without it AND even has a smaller footprint.

Probably because the previous shots, like hollywood stars, were all done up with make-up, fancy outfits and stuff for the camera at the time. The picture in this thread shows a plain jane view of the unit in regular blue jeans, t-shirt, and without any make-up on ;).

Yeah, me too. At EB. And they' re all idiots. He then tried to sell me a scratch remover. Sorry Joe, maybe you' ve just been unlucky. I know numerous people who do the same, PS2 on it' s side with no problems.

I haven' t seen those warnings at EB. Mostly they were handmade signs with a scratched disc next to it (disc was real). They said the disc could (not " would" ) be ruined. No attempt was made to sell a scratch thingy.

I always wonder why Sony didn' t also try to sell a horizontal stand? b cuz they no those ppl r 2 sm4rt.

Well I wasnt going to tell you untill after e3 but inside of the controller, instead of a ' Rumble Feature' it has a ' Shock Feature' , so when you get hit in the game, lose health etc. you feel the pain also. Microsoft believes this will allow gamers to bond with there 360' s and the games on it.

Jesus Christ, people! I think everyone has missed the point of the Xbox360 name! Since it is the 360, you will be able to stand the thing on ANY side (360 degrees). I bet you all thought that the name " Xbox360" would have zero relevance to anything and was just horrible focus-group based marketing that America is loved for, but you are wrong!

and I agree with Joe, you should totally be able to stand the 360 any way you want. I reccomend placing it with the disc tray facing straight down, so any time you want to put a game in the tray has to push the whole unit up off the ground like it' s doing pushups.

It looks a bit dull...But still nice small and different. However, even tho it looks dull, wont they have customizable peices. Like the actor metaphor used above, you can apply the makup yerself.

Even though I have committed to buying the XBOX 360, I agree with evangelion...those pictures do not really make it look all that good.

Luckily, I don' t buy a system for how it looks, but for how it works and makes games look & play. The gameplay and visuals on the XBOX 360 are expected to be absolutely spectacular!!!

Also, standing your PS2 on it' s side does scratch discs. I had mine like that for the first couple of months, and it completely ruined my THPS3 disc, which doesn' t load anymore.

and like I said, I' ve had mine on it' s side for 4 years and no scratched discs. So maybe SOME models do, but mine certainly doesnt. Maybe it' s how you put the disc in and take it out that' s causeing the scratches.

I doubt it has anything to do with the way I put them in since I' m generally really careful, and the scratches are curved.

DaRoosh65 is right you dont just buy a console for what it looks like, plus when it comes out most people wont care what it looks like, they' ll take one look at the games for sale and get it.

I think the xbox live gold and silver thing is going to confuse alot of people though, and is going to take a while to get used to with all the profiles and eye toy while gaming.

The only thing bad about the design is the color IMO. I say the color choice there is for marketing reasons (sort of) tho. People gonna want a good reason to go and spend a few extra on custom face plates. Unless however they give you a free set of designs with the console then thatd be further reason to give it a bland coloras to increase the chances of ppl actually using them...or somthing

Unfortunately no. There will be 360 face plates to choose from. Early developement teams were toying with the idea of stencils, but realized that this was going to lead to real independant thought rather thean the illusion of uniqueness they can provide with these faceplates. You can however buy a bucket of latex paint, cut out fancy star shapes, glue em on with a glue stick and then dunk the whole unit in the paint. throw some sparkles on it and you' ll have the coolest xbox360 this side of hell.

this is pretty much the same, chunky, primary colours, BAD d-pad... yet for some reason, it' s amazing, just cos it' s xbox360
