Adam isn' t around to moderate enough. I think Terry should be a mod, or someone else who is here a lot. Anyone but me, because I want to remain eligible for free games!

hello again, did i do something wrong? I am new to the forums thing i sign up with Kikizo for the newsletters, which i stil haven' t gotten. So when i found the site i thought it was cool to be able to have all those old games and for cheap too and since everyone here is a gamer i thought you would all appreciate it and think it' s cool. I didn' t mean any harm or mean to break any rules. I don' t really do forums like i said i thought this site is cool and wanted to sign up for the newsletter. Any reason why i am not getting it? How often is it sent out?

I believe the Kikizo newsletter is sent periodically, so whenever the next issue hits you should be getting it..

As for the ROMs linkage, ROMs are illegal and I ' think' it' s a violation of forum guidelines to post such links.

Oh i thought i read somewhere that some senators said that it wasn' t illegal if they are not produced anymore. Because they said that even they play them sometimes. Sorryi did not realize that. Like i said i just wanted to share something cool with everyone.

I still find it funny that Capcom was ' pimping' MAME and ROMS of some of their classic arcade games with its Arcade PC setup at a previous E3. They truly are a hardcore company, hehe..

Yuh - no ROM linkage please.
Emulators yes, ROMS - no way.

Will keep this thread open as a reminder. Since we don' t explicityly state this in the rules, I guess we should let this slide as a one-off. Thanks.

YO JOE!

sorry couldn' t resist hehe.

I didn' t mean to violate the rules i just thought it was a awesome find. I have a DS with the movie player that plays normal type 1 complact flash memory cards and it plays NES ROMS so i thought it was awesoem to be able to play tons of NES ROMs on the go on my DS the only thing is that it doesn' t use the save feature so you play just one shot. Won' t happen again. He does have TONS of emulators. You siad emulators yes hehe.

Possession of ROMs may be illegal. ROMs are not illegal...if that were the case, then every 8 and 16 bit game maker would have been imprisoned for blatantly producing an illegal product.

Also, every computer maker would be in major trouble as ROM = Read Only Memory. This is in every computer, calculator/adding machine, PDA' s, cell phones, and the list goes on...

However, possession of ROMs is only illegal if you do not already own a copy of that exact game (no ' regional' or ' other' variations are allowed).

Some people, who legally acquire ROMs, do so because they originally purchased a copy of a game for their console, but either the console or system no longer works and is out of print and/or production ... BUT THEY LEGALLY OWN THE GAME (that is the important part) and are allowed to retain a backup copy which may be acquired through the internet or other legal sources.

The reason you got your link removed was that you were [unknowingly] (benefit of the doubt here) promoting the possibility of someone pirating the ROMs, getting caught, and saying that they got the link through the Kikizo website.

This, to say the least, would cause problems for Adam, Kikizo staff, and its members. To avoid these problems in the future, you would probably want to stay away from subjects that are seriously controversial (like acquiring items that could be piracy-related)...just to be safe.

' Nuff said...

Oh, and if no one has said this already...Welcome to Kikizo, Phoenixxx1974. Nice to have you as a part of the Kikizo family.
