Don' t count on the PS3 to run your PS1 games. It could happen, but I don' t think it' s likely. We' ll see.

Kinda like how the DS will run Gameboy Advance games but not the Gameboy games predating that era.. The idea of PS3 not running PSOne games seems Very probable.

I think (I' m not sure) that the Revolution ' may' be the only next-gen console without backwards compatibility. Nintendo could surprise us in May, who knows..

Nintendo has already stated that the Revolution will be backwards compatible with the legions and legions of exceedingly great Gamecube software that overwhelms every game player with fantastic-ness each and every week.

Well if the rumour mill is correct Outrun 2 SP is in the works for home consoles. Seeing as the xbox struggled to handle Outrun 2 and SP is graphically far superior a release on one of the next gen consoles seems most likely. I' ll buy a console for that one game.

The xbox version of Outrun 2 looked pretty much arcade-perfect to me. Then again, I hardly ever set foot in the arcades any more.

On topic, as long as there are launch games that I really want to play, I' ll be getting all or most consoles at launch. As far as the xbox 360 is concerned, I' d buy it regardless of games line-up, as I want to use it as a media player as well.
