Timsplitters 3
-
Mar 08, 2005 08:57
Ok, I' m putting this thread up for anyone (especially those who may have had a chance to play a test copy Adam ) to put out any info on this game. I' ve decided I must purchase this game, but there are key pieces of info I' m missing that is just drving me crazy!! For one, does anybody know how firm the 21st of march release date is, and is that a north american only release date? Secondly, does the map maker let you make outdoor maps this time rather than just the old crappy indoor ones. Thirdly, does anybody know if you can play capture the bag with 4 seperate teams rather than just the two teams as in TS2?

May 6, 2004 " Electronic Arts announced today the return of one of the popular console first-person shooters series with the announcement of TimeSplitters Future Perfect. In development by Free Radical Design and scheduled to ship in early 2005 under the EA GAMES brand, TimeSplitters Future Perfect sends players into the past, present, and future to battle the notorious TimeSplitters. Cortez returns for the third title in the series and finds himself in a race against time to trace the origin of the TimeSplitters and save mankind. This third installment of the popular shooter franchise offer hundreds of hours of gameplay and an improved Story mode that ties all the missions together between the years of 1914 and 2401. The game will also feature " meet yourself" time travel gameplay that lets players be their own ally by teaming up with past and future versions of themselves. The game also will allow two players to fight through the Story in Co-op mode, and features extensive Challenge and Arcade modes, and a Multiplayer mode that allows gamers to battle in 16-player death match online on the PlayStation 2 - a feature that fans of the series have been asking for for quite some time. The game will also offer an improved Map Maker feature, hundreds of unlockables, more realistic environments, special effects, animated cut scenes, an improved physics engine, smarter enemy AI, and much more. TimeSplitters Future Perfect is scheduled for release in early 2005 for the PlayStation 2, the Xbox and GameCube." i also believe there will be vehicles you can use...not just gun turrets, but jeeps and ***.

Ok, my wife bought me the PS2 version as a surprise, so there' s no more wondering. only 2 teams of caputer the bag, and unfortunately no flame tag (my favorite mode). Hopefully if will be available as an unlockable. Anyways, I' ve only played 1 level so far, and I' m taking off for a vacation for a week, so I' ll give a detailed report on what I think of it when I get back. Who knows, I may even buy the PS2 network adapter for the online play. Anyways, Have a great Easter week everyone.

I picked this up last friday...haven' t yet played MP (i kno i kno), but have been enjoying the story mode in co-op a pretty good bit. a little redundant at times, but still fun. some pretty fun weapons, esp later in the game, and pretty funny too. whats more important is the timeline this sets up....i have this to finish soon, then doom 3, then area 51, then pariah. the perfect lineup!

I was finally able to pick up a copy....my god, soooo much fun......campain is fun and funny, multiplayer is the best ive played in a long time....I would even go as far to say that multiplayer is more fun than Halo 2' s multiplayer. Challenges are hard, and fun (zombie monkies) The map editor is SWEET, oh and there is still tag, not flame tag, but disease tag. sooo many multiplayer modes, and bots. I give this game a 9.8 out of 10. pick it up...you' ll like it

well I haven' t played online, but as a single-console multiplyer game, it certainly delivers. I' ve played some of the challenges, co-op story, and multiplayer deathmatches, and all of them lived up to my expectations. I highly recommend the monkey curling, but that could just be the canadian in me.

This game just keeps on delivering. The one complain i have, it is just too dark, it is so hard to see anything (and the announcer, does anyone else want to punch his face in). We had to turn up the brightness on the TV, and it was still hard to see. Q-ball, i never got to play monkey curling, but i watched it. It looked so fun.

You can turn the announcer off before every arcade game. unfortunately not for the challenges. So far I really like the level design. I' ve been gone for so long that I didn' t really have a chance to play it much, but I love the temple and zepplin levels, and the siberia level just looks reduculously huge, which is a good thing.

The online play is pretty great if you can get over all the monkey abusers. It' s a little weird playing at first, cause the characters move in a herky jerky fashion depending on the speed of the connection. So a guy using a 56k modem sometimes actually has an advantage cause his character appears to " warp" around. And I got my ass smoked. It' s too bad x-box players can' t play PS2 players or I' d love to run you around for a while MassX.

Yeah, i just played online.... cheating like monkey bastards. I can' t believe the whiny moronic players who have to play like idiots to make themselves feel good. And yet it is so addictive... i just can' t stop.

I disagree, Flametag was awesome. Not having it is one of the major drawbacks of TS:FP. I miss it. Virus is good, but flametag was better.

the only thing i really like about TS is deathmatch....but i am also a sucker for a good FPS seathmatch. the tag' s of all tyes never really apealed to me, though i did play them due to everyone else loving them so much. i just find it way easier for people who know the levels well to run around and hide in the harder to find areas and win, where as in deathmatch you actually have to run out into the open and risk getting shot at. sure it' s still unfair for players who aren' t very experienced getting shot up all the time and what not, but at least the other players have to come out and risk being shot at.....where as flametag, it was easy for an experienced player to hide from the inexperienced and never get flamed. so let' s just all shoot each other and be happy.
