SMASH of the week!!
-
Mar 07, 2005 15:26
No, not referring to Smash hits, but to a game, or a game related item that you just wanna Smash!!! Just kind of venting my frustration a little after the GameCube' s new shoot-em-up, CHAOS FIELD totally wiped my memory card clean of all of its game saves. That means all of my saves for the 3 times I played through Resident Evil 4 and was close to raising the $1 million pesos to buy the unlimited Rocket launcher, all of that stuff is gone! Same goes for all other game saves I had on there. LMAO! Why am I laughing then? Cause it' s both funny and painful at the same time. I don' t know whether to *smash* the GameCube or Chaos Field ;) Then there' s the PS2 game, D1 Grand Prix Series Professional Drift. Now I understand this game is all about drifting and is aimed towards hardcore drifting fanatics who can pull off all types of drifts with their eyes closed but this game is UNFORGIVEABLE to beginners-moderate level players. Talk about one of the most frustrating games in existence! And one that definitely needs to get **SMASHED**

Namco' s DEATH BY DEGREES Super Tekken fighting action Nina Williams needs to get smashed for its retorded control scheme. Boss fights are INCREDIBLY frustrating with the dual stick control setup!!

You didn' t know that a GC memory card can only save games from the one game region?

Actually up until Chaos Field my memory card successfully saved games from both regions. My game saves for import games like P.N. 03, Adventure Island and a few others co-existed just fine with my American game saves :) Chaos Field was the rebellious import title that didn' t play well with the others.

Yes, some Japanese games can coexist with American ones - I know Viewtiful Joe Revival saves fine on my memory card full of American games. However, a lot don' t and hence it' s generally better to have dedicated memory cards for each game region.

My candidate for ' Smash of the Week' is Mech Assault 2. This game was soooooooooo hyped only to be a BIG, no HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE, disappointment. And to think that I was so wrong about Fable...I had read the many reviews that said it was a big disappointment (didn' t live up to the hype) only to discover for myself that it is TOTALLY awesome!!! Go figure...
Videogaming is the contemporary interactive pasttime.

Fable got some bad stick because it wasn' t the god of games as it was hyped to be. But it was still pretty damn good.
