Whats the story with Area 51

I was going to mention this in the Half Life 2 thread, but thought I' d take a stab with a thread on its own. I just heard about this game from a friend who said he played the demo that came with OPM. he said it looks awesome....

I like the idea, but was looking to find out a bit more....you guys hear anything yet?

i played the demo and its great.i think the aliens break out and the humans have to fight back.there was some aliens in the demos and they could carry guns.the game looks very NICE

I' ve already pre-purchased the game. The release date has been postponed until April. Here is a description of the game.

The U.S. Army has received a distress signal from Area 51 where a viral outbreak has just shut down the research facility and the automated quarantine procedures have locked all scientific and military personnel inside. A small Special Forces unit led by Specialist Ethan Cole of the HAZMAT (hazardous materials) Division is sent to investigate. As Cole, players will delve into five massive levels within the confines of Area 51, discovering a deadly mutagenic side effect of the virus that controls the minds of those infected, as well as an ancient alien colony buried beneath the facility. With a multitude of human and alien weapons, players must explore chilling conspiracies such as the extraterrestrial crash at Roswell and the faked lunar landing, in order to solve the enigma of Area 51 before the viral mutagen is released and irrevocably mutates all life on Earth.

I' ve played the demo and loved it. I believe the main character becomes infected with the alien virus at some point (with interesting side effects). Also, there is talk of multiplayer as welll.

Yeah, I read that as the game progresses the player gains more and more players. I also think it mentioned that he mutates or something. I tell you one thing...it' s nice to see Midway finally putting quality games back out in the market. It' s been a long, long time since I was able to say that, lol. I' m actually really looking forward to this game because it reminds me a lot of the original Half Life.

ahhh....very cool, I like the idea of picking up some of the powers...kind of an evolution sort of thing. veddy cool. im trying to track down a copy of Mortal Kombat: deception so i can give the demo a go. hopefully i can get my hands on a copy soon.

in other news, i hear a PC demo is due out at some point....now that sounds pretty tempting.

ok....so I' ve played the demo a bunch more times and I' m confidant this will be pretty awesome. Dual wielding is def a plus...esp when using shotguns. uh huh...I said it.

but what is this hidden treasures thing?
