How do YOU pronounce " Kikizo" ?

I just watched Adam' s appearance on UK TV and suddenly became interested in how different people pronounce the name of this website. To me it sounds like Adam says " Keezo" :)

what? their is no ' L' in Kikizo!......maybe i could be wrong, adam what does it mean?

I just used to say KiKi-Zow. Good question though, what on earth does Kikizo the word mean?

I say it as Ki (" Kiss" ) Ki (" Key" ) Zo (" Zone" ) but I suppose Ki(ss) Ki(ss) Zo(ne) is actually more logical.

Having said that I have heard KIZIKO - Ki(ss) Zi(p) Ko - way too many times! And perhaps the most irritating is kiki-ZOO!

So, now you know.

As for what Kikizo means, the answer is " quite obviously the best videogames site around" , which is the direct Japanese translation.

Actually, that' s a lie, it doesn' t mean anything (and we checked, that includes in Japanese, altough perhaps in some other language it means " dickwad" or something charming like that).

When we chose the name for the site, we wanted a dot com and since the concept was " entartainment" and " information" , two pretty awkward words, and since every possible domain you could ever think of is already LONG gone, we thought why not just make up a word and give ourselves the challenge if MAKING it mean something one day!

We wanted it to be easy to type and catchy sounding but to date I think 30% of people in the industry who discuss it with us say it wrong so perhaps we messed up there. Still, I like it, so that' s good enough for me ;-) There are really popular sites out there that still don' t even have a proper domain name which proves it is all about the content, although I would also like for Kikizo to become a strong brand as well.

One advantage that " kikizo" has is that it stands out. Too many game sites have the word " game" in them. I don' t know the difference between Gamespot, Gamesquirt, Gamepro, etc. They all sound the same to me.

I always thought it was pronounced (kee-kee-zoh)...just sounds natural that way.

Ki as in Kite, Ki as in Keys, and Zo with the long O.
