Movies That Bring Tears To Your Eyes... - Dec 09, 2004 18:13
The one movie that guarantees to have me tearing-up is Armageddon.

Others that make me tear-up are:

It Could Only Happen To You (when all those sympathy letters come and save the day)

A League of Their Own (right at the end - when all of the team players attend the reunion and the grown-up version of the little snotty kid is there to represent his Mother)

I am sure there are more, but I can' t think of them right now...

Now, it' s your turn...what movies bring tears to your eyes?

One, and I repeat only one movie has ever brought tears to my eyes. It was my 8th birthday, and Transformers the movie was rented for the occasion. When Optimus is lying on the table and gives the matrix over to Ultra Magnus, and the life lines go flat, there were a bunch of teary eyed 8 year olds. WWHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh dear boy, we ARE kindred spirits :).. The death of Optimus Prime really got me in the Transformers: The Movie... What sucked was that the writers weren' t done torturing me with his death, they revived him in Season 3' s " Dark Awakening" only to kill him off again and then bring him back to life again in " The Return of Optimus Prime" .. Fortunately he was back for good when the series finally ended in the U.S.

Japan was another story and they killed him AGAIN but his death there was REALLY dumb.

As for other movies that get me crying like a baby, I had heavy streams of tears flowing down my face when I watched GHOST in the theatres WAYYYYYYYYYY back when. It was sooo sad.

I also cried at the end of Thelma & Louise. Those girls took viewers on a fun ride throughout the movie, and in the end :: sigh :::

The Last Samurai: Their last battle and Ken Wantonabi' s last speech...

LOTR: Return of the King: The speech before Rohan charges...Gandalf' s many speeches...and the end...got me in the book too.

I am way too manly to cry, but I will agree with DaRoOoOsH about crying during Armageddon. Even though I didn' t pay to see the movie, there was no way that I' d ever get those 2 hours of my life back! Man I was ballin' !

O shit ya that ending in the Professional was harsh on the emotions.

Another movie that hit me hard was Once Upon a Time in Mexico. The ending was just so feeled with emotion and the fact that they couldnt have the future they wanted. Blow is also another flick that had that sad ending and it was even more sad cuz it was a true story

i cried like a baby at the finale of Backdraft, when Kurt Russels character died.
i was also touched by the return of the kings ending, and some of the uplifting moments, as well as the music.

honorable mention: battlefield earth. cried so much i refused to be subjected by more ' tear extracting' films like Gigli. ( note the sarcasm )
Dashing through the store,
on a three wheeled shopping cart
sliding across the floor
avoiding kids and pots

Reaching for the games,
and taking out my cash
oh what fun will i have today
before my brain cells crash

HEY!
couldnt fit

The Royal Tenenbaums, from the previews that movie is made to look like a comedy but its a real emotionally driven movie. Altho it does add it is sort of dark humor time to time.

Ha! Ha! HA!!!

I didn' t tear-up because of lost valuable time...

The tears were because the ' Willis' character selflessly gave his life for humanity and so his son-in-law and daughter could live happily ever after.

To really watch even just that part of the movie will bring tears to anyone' s eyes...

Punch Drunk Love - One of Adam Sandlers flicks that show he has more skills then he leads ya to beleive

Last season of Futurama - Ok it didnt make me cry but they got real deep and emotional as that got near the end.

Trainspotting - Reminded me too much of my old friends (not exactly but a few elements got to me mostly)

A Beautiful Mind - True stories get me the easiest

I am more emotional about movies then I thought. Then again I watch so many damn movies the percentage isnt probably as high then.

DEEP IMPACT had so many tear-jerking parts. SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Like when they got the families of the astronauts to talk to the astronauts through the camera one last time before they sacrificed themselves. Like when the reporter girl made peace with her father at the end. Like when the reporter girl' s mother committed suicide a sad and bitter woman because her husband left her and married a young woman. Like when the reporter girl' s mom was over the age bracket for people eligible to live in the caves.

There was one scene in ENEMY AT THE GATES that really got me into tears. It' s when they decided to tell the boys mother that her little boy defected and turned to the German' s side, because they didn' t want to break her heart by telling her the truth, that her son was murdered by the German sniper. But what really got me into tears was when they were evacuating everyone including the mother, and she saw a pole with messages on it left for loved ones. She put hers, " My dear <boy' s name>, they are evacuating us now. Stay safe." <- well something to that effect. For me that was a real tearjerker.
