I had some plans of considering game development as a career, but this has made me think twice.
Mmmm, more toys? Where?

EXTREMELY Long work hours, never being around to seeing your kids grow up has always been an aspect of the game industry. Those developers in that article that were complaining about 12-hour a day workshifts must' ve been kind of new to the business, LOL..

When Sega scrapped their original Dreamcast Sega Rally 2 game and had to redo it from scratch and get it done in 2 months, those guys literally slept at the offices every day and worked alot longer than 12-hour shifts per day.

I remember as a younger lad thinking to myself that raising a family and being a game developer totally conflicted with each other, lol..
