If it's a big midnight release I'll get it at Gamestop at midnight. Otherwise I'll just get it at Target. If it's a PC game I usually buy it on Steam. I wish new 360 releases were direct download instead of this a few months/years later crap.

Best Buy/Gamestop (if they have a sealed copy which is rare)/Target and sometimes Wal*Mart. Sometimes I will order them online or a friend will buy them for me at an employee discount at Blockbuster and deliver them to me and I pay him back and give him 5 cents gratuity!

Play.com mostly, sometimes Amazon. If I'm importing I usually buy from Renchi or Play-Asia. I used to buy stuff from Lik-Sang... but we all know what happened to them :-(

Came across this today - gamespider.co.uk/ It's a game price comparison site, covers all the biggies. Pretty damn useful.

Does blockbuster sell new games? Because there is one practically across the street from me but I never rent things so I haven't been to it. If they did it would be much easier to get midnight releases there. I'm surrounded by a shitton gamestops but they are all about 20 minutes away.

Yes, they do, but on what scale I am not sure. I also doubt they do midnight releases. Walk over and ask them about all that. I never bother with the midnight stuff. I don't want to be one of "those people".

A friend is the manager of an indie game store in Motherwell, so I go and see him usually. I feel guilty going elsewhere, but I do order online if it saves a lot of money. His store just can't compete with play.com, amazon or shopto.net. Been to the midnight launch for Gears and Halo, but as I stay near glasgow it's just a case of going to the pub until closing time then getting the game before going home. Note I feel the need to justify it to myself though.
