Blur Beta

Anybody else playing this? And if not, what do you need to know?

I do not beta test games for free.

I've levelled up to the max, I'm loving it.  5 tracks was fairly generous I thought.  Can't wait for the full game.

I tried it out briefly but haven't had a chance to get massively stuck in yet. Seemed fun. Massively over-the-top = good. What do you like about it, Stuart?

Blur?  What the fuck is Blur?  I want my StarCraft2 beta key ffs.

The racing itself is arcadey enough for me to enjoy, as you'd expect from PGR's developers.  I'm not a huge fan of racing games in general.  The power ups and 20 racers online really make it chaos.  I've been playing with friends and haven't laughed so much when playing online in ages.

Comparisons with Mario Kart are fair in the style of the power ups, however they are all physics based so you can really mess up your opponents by popping them as they try to slide round a corner.

The levelling system is pretty good too, you can pick and choose "perks" which affect your racing and power ups to suit your style.  I'll be gettng this day 1 on release.  Nice change from my usual FPS/RPG gaming diet.
