Can such a high budget movie with Jake Gyllenhaal flop?  Or will it be the second semi decent game-to-film since Silent Hill.

I like what's his face ever since Jarhead so I have some hope for it.

Mike Newell's the director (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and they've got the same writer Jordan Mechner as the PoP games - so theres a good chance it'll be ok.

The story is meant to be from Sands of Time - so the characters and the premise are all good, but I'm wondering how they're gonna make Jake Gyllenhaal repeatedly rewind time every time he falls off a cliff...

I laughed when the interviewer said something like, "What's it like taking it to place like Morocco??" in disgust, heh.  Most of Star Wars or Indiana Jones was filmed there right?

I don't think the film follows much of the game's story line at all..

I'd rather see a good movie with name-association only than a shitty videogame rip-off movie originally starring a silent protagonist.
