I bet it will be in dedicated devices, as well as the HPC market. It's suited for anything that runs dedicated code. Zii uses CELL, we'll see how successful that becomes. They compare it to stem cells, which is bad marketing but that doesn't take away from it's physical potential. http://www.zii.com/ CELL is to CPUs as what unified shader's is to GPUs. I'm sure there will be a growth period... I really think this will be a big advancement on microprocessor architecture. Maybe not for home computers but for many other things.

Getting excited over a "new" OS has always seemed rather stupid to me. Short of compatibility and performance, what is there to really expect? It's the same kernel, a shitty GUI I'll be skinning anyhow, and potential birthing pangs. Why am I getting excited again?

Eddie_the_Hated Why am I getting excited again? Because you're a fellow 'nerd' and that's what we do?

Because you're a fellow 'nerd' and that's what we do? What's a 'nerd'? Are these different from nerds without apostrophes? Grammatically speaking, it appears to be a double contraction of the middle-French world "garnerdine", meaning, "no woman".
