Issues with 360 NXE
-
Dec 17, 2008 20:08
Guys a friend of mine is having issues with NXE, he is getting a slow startup moving along the menu's is slow, basically ever since NXE his Xbox has slowed up (It is only 18months old.) I was under the impression that NXE could be removed, have any of you tried it and how do you do it, also if he moved all his game saves to an external drive could he move them back if he decided to format his drive?

Yes, he could copy back if he has to format.

Well, your buddy may be out of luck. I don't do the 360 homebrew scene, so I'll have to do a little hunting, but I'm inclined to beleive that you can't. NXE was a mandatory D/L. Certain components of Live are dependent on NXE features. Microsoft is one of the big three, and the big three are notorious for not supporting firmware downgrades of any kind, including NXE. If you want to try anything, give clearing the cache a shot. X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X at your hard drive blade in NXE. You have to hit Y before that to access the page. I'll hunt about for you Ali, see what I can turn up. Edit: Microsoft says: "We are sorry. There is no way to uninstall the NXE. We are currently trying to find a solution. That seems to be the case, even with "illegitimate" means of removal.

Thanks Eddie / Dan, already tried the Cache clearing and also got him to boot the thing up without the HD attached and it pops up with NXE so guess he is SOL at the moment. Lol Masta
