Moving to BIG SKY COUNTRY
-
Oct 04, 2004 17:26
Well, I thought I was moving to Connecticut, but my dh turned down the job. He was offered one in Bozeman, Montana. We' re moving there this month. Anyone posting here at Kikizo live there or have lived there?

Sharon, Why did your husband choose Montana over Connecticut? Cost of living? Montana is wide open land...maybe a town or small city here and there...I knew a guy who lived there, and he said it gets mighty cold in the winters and not-so-hot during the summers... That' s about all I remember him saying... Hope it helps...

it' s close by where I live (kind of, just further south). It is beautiful out in the big open plains. Hope the move goes well.

Montana would be a pretty good place to live IMO. Of course I' ve always been one to appreciate the outdoors and stuff...I could live in a cabin with no tv and just books...

dh? Dumb husband? Very funny Joe DaRoosh -- I' m from a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada -- I love mountains, wildlife and I' m use to the cold, snowy winters. I have relatives that live in Calgary, Alberta so I could go visit them on a long week-end. My husband likes that Bozeman is a " sports fishermen' s paradise" . Yes, the cost of living is much lower than here in Virginia (no tax), the company is " employee owned" , instead of family owned (as where he is working now -- everyone is related to the boss, so you can' t say dick all about anyone you' re having a problem with). Yes, there will be a cut in pay, but the cost of living is exceptionally lower, plus they' re giving him lots of incentives. The company is paying all the expenses of moving -- bonus! He' ll be the boss -- bonus! We' ll get to live in a house again -- bonus!! Homeschooling is very well accepted as the norm -- bonus!!! And they have a special hospital for children there that dealswith Tourette Syndrome, Autisum, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other neuralogical conditions which our children have -- bonus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, you won' t get rid of me that easy You may not hear from me for a few weeks, but I' ll definitely be back asap. I' ll be packing boxes starting today (don' t trust the movers to do it) and probably be on the road by the end of the month.
