Christian equivalent of Gutiar Hero
-
Aug 28, 2008 18:57
Are you a big fan of the industry-dominating rhythm genre, but feel that Rock Band 2's mostly secular set listcould use a healthy dose of Jesus? Then you may want to hold off on anymajor faux rock-related purchases until September 25, when Guitar Praise: Solid Rock ships for PC and Mac.GameDaily dredged up a few details on the Digital Praise-developed game, whose equally pious brethren include Dance Praise and Solomon Says.Guitar Praise will apparently feature 52 God-approved tracks from someof the biggest acts in Christian rock, including Flyleaf, Petra,Whitecross, Skillet, Newsboys and more. Multiplayer modes were alsomentioned, allowing for a second player to hop on bass guitar orpartake in a very familiar-sounding "PowerDuel" -- involving power-upsthat screw with the opposition's performance. No word as of yet ifthese instruments will be compatible with Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but don't hold your breath. In the face of such overwhelming competition this Fall, a niche titlelike Guitar Praise might seem like it doesn't have a prayer. Still, don't be too surprised if this thing actually sells; more than enoughparents did a spit-take when they caught their children rocking outalongside Lucifer in Guitar Hero III.We can't help but imagine the joy on little Timmy's face when he sees aguitar-shaped box under the Christmas tree, followed by the crushingdisappointment once he discovers it's Guitar Praise and not Guitar Hero: World Tour or Rock Band 2. And Ralphie thought he had it bad with a pink bunny suit. I needed a good laugh today.

There is nothing much you can say on that is there, although there are rumours of CoD 6 being based in biblical times and instead of calling in an airstrike you call in a plague of locusts....Well you never know do you?

Instead of a helicopter, God goes on a rampage and rapes the other team for 5 min. It's almost as good as the helicopter...almost.

Meh, I want to see Korea, Nam, The Gulf War or Bosnia in 6. Modern Warfare is okay, but I like historically based war games more than their recent fictitious venture.

Nitro Are real Christians allowed to play videogames? I think the definition of a "real christian" depends on the christian. I think most people confuse all christians as being like Jack Thompson. I consider myself a christian. I'm actually close friends with people that go to my church and they all play video games, even the pastors kids. My church actually opposes the stereotypical christian views, such as some churches say that you shouldn't be around non-christians unless you're shoving christianity down their throat. And especially against christians who believe they're better than other people just because they're christians. I use to have the most ignorant preacher ever. He was racist and everyone knew it. Any time an interracial couple would come to our church, he would preach against interracial marriage not too long after. One time we had visitors from Saudi Arabia and when he was preaching he said that "all ARABS wanted to kill christians just for not believing in Alah". He didn't say Muslims, he said Arabs. I don't recall the guests coming back. When he would talk about global news or politics, you could clearly see that he made up most of the shit he spewed.

Yeah. do tell. I play violent and explicit games. I curse, frequently, I'm in love with Tarintino movies, and I have no hate for Muslims, Jews or gays. ...I also go to church, of my own volition every Sunday. Where's the line drawn between Christianity and the "real world?"

Not at all to live a christains life is to walk in the foot setps of jesus. In order to live life like jesus you need to stay away from things that are not holy. Every body sins but as a christan you have to try your best not to sin and live by gods rules. Let me put it like this to kill a man in your mind is the same to kill a in your heart and that is the murder in gods eyes. I will answer all the qusetion you guys have the best I can. A chirstan life is all about prasieing god and doing what he has designed for you to do on earth and nothing more. Be respectful and I will try my best to answer your qustions.

I manage to mingle Christianity and the real-world alright. I'm happy, you're happy (I assume). Why bother arguing a point that a) revolves around unproven beliefs, and b) doesn't really effect the immediate wellbeing of either of us? Not to mention... it's the wrong section for this.

I'm happy, you're happy (I assume). Not really. I'm not miserable either though, I'm neutral. I don't feel strong emotions. Sometimes I may sound flamboyant (I choose my words for effect), but in reality I'm an emotional mute. Theres an actual name for this condition... You remind me of a quote though. "The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one." -George Bernard Shaw A brilliant play writter. "Arms and the Man" is fantastic. I've never seen anyone piss all over idealism as well as he has. LoL is this Christian guitar thing a joke or is it a real product?

mikayd2 Not at all to live a christains life is to walk in the foot setps of jesus. In order to live life like jesus you need to stay away from things that are not holy. I'm curious. Walking in his footsteps means being rebellious then? Or following the written (sometimes politically fueled) interpretations by others after he had died? He did for example seclude himself from society in the desert at times although he and his followers/sect weren't allowed to do so according to the law. Weapon possession was another issue amongst sect members. And many of Jesus's ideas were seen as "unholy" by others at the time because he threw together ideas from other philosophies and was one amongst many healers/miracle performing people then. PS If I recall right, didn't you listen to rap? I would imagine that staying away from that would be normal otherwise considering the lyrical content and image ;) Rapping about murder would be the same thing as doing it for real as you mentioned.

Oh and by the way I do have a lot of sins that I am working on for instance . I have a big problem looking at another man woman ( its callesd lust baby) I don't know what it is but when I see a fine and sexy lady I go into a zone a deep zone. Sometimes I find my self getting lost while looking at woman. I am in love with woman I cant go without them. They are wonderful.

I just wondered and you mentioned that people could ask questions if they wanted. I don't know rap but isn't it hard to find that positive rap these days? Compared to before at least when there seemed to be a somewhat more "light" atmosphere or sincere political views. Ys you seem like the clamest guy on kikizo. I seem to recall an episode of King of the Hill in which Bobby got involved with a "hip" Christian rock camp. Hank says to the camp organizer/"rocker", "Don't you see? You're not making Christianity any better. You're just making rock music worse!"

"The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to thepoint than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one."-George Bernard Shaw ...so if it doesn't hurt anybody, what's wrong with being drunk? Hank says to the camp organizer/"rocker", "Don't you see? You're notmaking Christianity any better. You're just making rock music worse!" Heh... Christian rock really is 90% garbage.
