Babylon A.D.

Aug 22, 2008 20:59
I just saw the trailer for this... How could i not have known about it up until the week before it's theatrical release? The first 10 seconds of the full trailer had me thinking it was another Riddick movie. That would have been badass! However, i was only disappointed for about a further 10 seconds once i'd realised it wasn't... then i couldn't have cared less. Babylon A.D.

It should be about time for another Riddick movie. Pitch Black was released in 2000, and Chronicles was in 2004. I also recall Vin Diesel dropping hints that there would be a sequel a few months ago. I know he's scheduled to be in two movies for '09(Fast and the Furious and something else that slips my mind), so that would possibly leave room for another Riddick movie.

Babylon is a sci-fi series that plays on TV. I wouldn't mind another Chronicles of Riddick, even better if they don't use Vin Diesel.

Oh yeah, lol. Clearly I wasn't a fan. The only sci fi shows I liked are ST Voyager and ST Deap Space Nine.

Isn't Vin diesel, suppposed to be fronting the 'Driver' film as well as some sci fi thing that I caught the end of a trailer for? I was certain he had dropped the Fast and Furious crap.

Damn! You're right Nitro. That looks pretty sick! And this is the first I've heard about it. I wonder if it's coming out in all theaters, or select ones, seeing as how I haven't seen any trailers, signage, or anything about it Oh, and Vin Diesel IS Riddick. Nobody else can play the part, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd put in Chuck Norris. He can play anything better than than anyone. They can say he had plastic surgery to fix his face.

They're doing that for Ledger's last movie. The Gilliam one. They'reusing magic or some such nonsense to explain why the character wentfrom a massively successful smirky cowboy to some other guys. Babylon A.D. I'm not usually one to give two shits about what movie critics say, no less aggregators like Rotten Tomatoes, but.... http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/babylon_ad/ That's the worst score I think I've ever seen on the site.

I don't care about what movie critics think. I think every movie has some good point to it. I think the only movie I've seen in the last three or so years that I absolutely hated was Cloverfail.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425743/ Watch it, and tell me there was some "good point" to it. I dare you. I was up at my local Blockbuster with Torr, and we're hunting around for a movie to rent. I had enough cash on me for one, and he pulls out a "rent-a-free-movie" stub from his pocket. I see it on the shelf, ogle at the firearms for a minute, and then walk up to the counter.... For a moment there, I was Ted Kennedy... My Blockbuster card was an Oldsmobile 98... And I was about to crash my brain headlong into the Chappaquiddick island channel that was my DVD player...

American Soldiers. I'd tell you who it starred, or directed it, but there was literally not a single notable name in the entire production. Apparently even the production team was signed on the B-list.

LOL, I don't think I want to see it. Of course it could be worse, I thought you were going to say it had Nicholas Cage in it. Then it would've been an automatic no. He's got to be the worst actor ever.

Nicholas Cage is a good actor, you must have bad tastes.

Agent Ghost Nicholas Cage is a good actor, you must have bad tastes. What? He has no emotion, how can you stand to watch him? The only movies I like with him in them are Ghost Rider(which I don't think is possible to fuck up) and I guess face off was decent. Warlord looked good, but I thought it was ruined by his shitty acting. His new movie also looks decent, but I won't hold my breath.

I think you're confusing composure for emotionless. He's subtle but it's there. "Lord of War", "Gone in 60 Seconds" and "Bringing out the Dead" are probably my favorite movies of his. He's not a shitty actor, he's won many awards and his movies brought in approx. 2 billion dollars collectively in the box office.

I did forget Gone in 60 Seconds. I just find him completely boring, and in the movies I do like I think someone else could've done better.

I rather like Cage. It's like going to see a Vin Diesel movie... you know what you're getting going in, and you still go to see the flick.
