Hype=bad if your game is merely average. Im surprised it hasnt gotten some really shit reviews out of hate for the hype.
They're still going to sell a million copies. How many people actually read these reviews? Out of this minority, how many people are dumb enough to make buying decisions based on reviews?
Hype never effects sales negatively.
I played the demo yesterday and I didn't think it was that bad. Maybe in the area of a 7/10 and 8/10. It has flaws but if the game mechanics work, especially if they're different I can always forgive imperfections.
The demo had way too much aliasing and some of the models looked like total shit, the controls while not in combat take some getting used to (I kept trying to use the right joystick to move the camera) and the story sounds like they tried too hard and missed.
If they pulled off the skill system where you can feel the difference and it takes time to build up a maxed character, then it might be interesting. Too bad co-op only supports two players though.
This is the game that everyone loves to hate, but it really doesn't seem that bad.
I'm thinking of buying it tomorrow.
