There are references made to Snake by other characters that hiding in a cardboard box is stupid and not exatly manly.

I think the MGS2 conversations with Raiden about the cardboard box are the best. I love it how Raiden first says how stupid someone looks inside a cardboard box and then later how Snake starts telling Raiden to treat the box with care, as the mission is completely dependent on how Raiden uses his boxes

i played 2 on the xbox, it bugged on me 2/3 through, so i couldnt complete it, didnt feel like going again.

I didnt play 3.
