Netwrok Bridge?
-
Jun 04, 2008 22:50
so i want a good 802.11g network bridge for my ps3 and 360, since the ps3 cannot pick up the signal downstairs [due to thick walls] and 360 having no wireless to speak of. my laptop is 802.11g [i think] and picks up signal, so i was wondering you guys have any experiance with this or have any recommendations for me?

Couple of questions first. What currently are you running? I assume you have a router? It' s probably best to stick with the same brand for maximum compatibility.

I used to have the same problem but found it wasn' t the walls that was causing the issue but the actual range of the router, I then purchased a router with a greater range the issue was sorted. However you can get signal boosters which depending on what you are currently running can be pretty easy to buy and install.

well it isnt the signal range, since the laptop picks up the signal in the same room, it is the thick walls and maybe distance and ps3' s older wireless. The router i have is netgear and never had a problem with it, it is also 802.11g.

Sorry Silent by range, I was meaning distance, I use a 300metre range router running 802.11n, it sorted out my issues with distance and thick walls. Plus i was able to use my Laptop with a great signal in the garden (why I would want to do that with the crap weather.)
