Sony Opens AFRIKA Site

And is Africa not coming in Europe?

Sony has told CVG that Afrika - that game/tech demo containing very realistic looking rhinos - will not be released in UK.

A formal announcement is yet to be made, but word (from higher beings within Sony) apparently just came in today that the game will not be published over here.

The news comes ironically on the same day web crawlers picked up on an Afrika teaser page on the official PlayStation Japan site.

Sony wouldn' t comment further, although we guess it has something to do with the fact that, going by the few screens released, you don' t wield a machine gun to slaughter everything alive.

It looks more like a photography game, which isn' t really our cup of tea. A US release is also unclear at the moment.

I plan on playing the black dude in this game. Hell the main character had better be black. I miss Leading Black Characters there not a lot of them.

A " revolutionary" first person shooter comes out on average, every six months, and sees sales warranting a sequel. Genre diversity wouldn' t kill this generation...

Funny but true. I hope there will be an English version since im kinda interested in the game and it would make a nice break between all those shooters and bloodbaths out there.

The game reminds me of Endless Ocean on Wii in a way. I assume that it' s kind of the same game genre?

It was kind of expected in a way. I got that Endless Ocean vibe as I mentioned earlier ;) Anyway, this could turn out to be a good game in its own genre. It' s certainly something else than most of what' s getting released.
