CVG gave NG II 8.0 The sequel packs the same punch as the original but it' s just not different enough. We' ve all seen in and done what NGII dishes up in the other three games of the series. There' s no real evolution and after four versions of almost the same game, it' s not hard to see why Itagaki has decided to hang up the nunchucks for good. Verdict A mixed bag of awesome combat, average visuals and insane difficulty. Ninja Gaiden II is everything we expected but nothing more. Uppers Near-perfect combat Massive boss battles Lashings of blood and gore Downers Horrible camera (still!) Occasional slowdown Mid-combat loading Too similar to the original GameReactor Sweden gave it 8/10 I' ll translate the main points as good as possible Graphics = 7 Gameplay = 8 Sound = 8 How long it will entertain you(Does anyone know a better frase or word) = 9 Total = 8/10 Plus Long adventure, reallt good boss fights and a smart menu system Minus Some of the levels are boring, more dull graphics than expected To anyone who speaks Swedish The Finnish branch of GR also gave it 8/10

Ninja Gaiden Sigma: Well thats just NG, so that doesnt count. and Devil May Cry features a gay demon, and since it isnt south park, i dont find it amusing.

I would have never expected NG2 to get mixed reviews, if anything I was expecting it to do on the 9 scale.

I' m definitely gonna get NG2.. Has anyone here played the DS version? Really addictive, great gameplay and presentation. For a handheld Action game, it kills PSP GOW.
Currently playing: Korg DS 10 (ds) / Metal Slug 7 (ds) Rhythm Heaven (ds) / Fire Emblem (ds) Super Stardust HD (psn) / Virtua Fighter 5 (360) FSX (P

Those are what I want to hear. Downers Horrible camera (still!) Occasional slowdown Mid-combat loading Too similar to the original I expected the shitty camera, Occasional slowdown shouldn' t be too much of a problem, Combat loading will get on my nerves, who cares if it' s similar to the original, thats a good thing IMO.

Has anyone here played the DS version? Really addictive, great gameplay and presentation. For a handheld Action game, it kills PSP GOW. not a chance, GOW is the best handheld action game hands down, it' s much better than ninja gaiden DS, and i have both. the problem with gaiden DS is the control, though it' s fun and original it lacks precision, you end up after awhile scratching your screen right and left without putting actual skill into it. the camera is also a problem but not a major issue. i really love the fast action in the game but to say it destroys GOW is a very bold statement. GOW has a much better control, it' s not original but it works very well, NO camera problem or almost, graphics are amazing way beyond NG, sound , cinematic, bosses are all excellent, god of war simply feels a way more epic even if it feels much like gow 1 and 2, but that is certainly not a bad thing, not at all.

Downers Horrible camera (still!) Occasional slowdown Mid-combat loading Too similar to the original The framerate hitches and load times are apparently only present in the evaluation copies of the game. Team Ninja says they' ve hammered out the issues for launch, but that' s as of yet unconfirmed.

They really shouldn' t send early editions to be reviewed. That' s just irresponsible and no way could the game get a fair review.

CVG Staffer Confirms Framerate Hitches in Final PAL Version CVG Gav CVG Staff [Petebrolly" ]According to Teamxbox the slowdown and framerate issues are only in review builds, and the retail builds have sorted this problem. We reviewed off PAL, boxed retail copy. Slowdown very much still there. SOURCE

For CVG to say that this is the fourth game in the series is retarded! It' s number 2, and should be treated as such. As far as the game score goes, 8 or above is very respectable, so it' s all good. I think whether you like the game or not basically boils down to how much the minor problems annoy you. I mean, if you like a game with awesome, yet extremely difficult, combat, then you' ll probably love this one. I' m looking forward to it, even though it' s going to kick my ass, and I' ll probably never finish it!
