Starcraft 2 specs emerge
-
May 23, 2008 02:14
Minimum Requirements: GFX: GeForce 7/8 Series or Radeon 1000/2000 with 25Mb RAM CPU: Pentium 4 RAM: 1Gb Internet: ADSL 1 MBit Recommend Requirements: GFX: GeForce 8000 or Radeon 2000 series with 512Mb RAM CPU: Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2 RAM: 2Gb Internet: ADSL 3 Mbit Optimal Requirements: GFX: Geforce 9000er or Radeon 3000er Series CPU: Core 2 Duo 3 Ghz or Athlon X2 RAM: 2Gb with DualChannel mode. Very high for Blizzard I think. As far as I can understand, WoW doesn' t require much for example Source

It would be nice if it supports multiple monitors like supreme commander. You can select 2 monitors using 2 different video cards, or hte same video card in that game. I don' t know if you can do more than 2 if you have the capability. Probably not. But it is pretty sweet because you basically just get 2 seperate views of the battlefield. I' m probably going to build my next computer with support for 4 monitors but if SC supported 4 I would go all out.

Supreme Commander has such an intuitive interface that I find myself trying to use the scroll zoom/map in games that don' t support it. Blizzard has yet to confirm the specs, so far only confirming that the game will require Pixel Shader 2.0. These specs are rumors and look to be pretty fake. Listing the GF9 series as superior to the GF8 series = Bogus Coupling a measly P4 CPU with a GF8 = Bogus The multitude of spelling mistakes = Bogus It looks like it was typed up by a 5 year old. Blizzard says it' ll require PS2.0, so that means probably Geforce 6 or X800 minimum. SC2 doesn' t even look that good, so unless Blizzard fail in optimization, it' ll be far below what' s listed here. It also has to work on the millions of average Korean PC' s, or else they' ll have some serious backlash.

How is it very high? Even if it was fake, 8000 series for reccomended could simply mean the game will fly on something like an 8600GT which is very cheap, only like $80? And WoW has low specs because it' s an MMORPG and the amount of things on screen s unpredictable. With an 8800GTX WoW still chugs when there' s hundreds of people on screen, as rare as that is.
