MGS4 isn' t the last Metal Gear
-
May 20, 2008 17:54
I think theres been some misconceptions that this is the last Metal Gear, associate producer Ryan Payton told MTV. This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story. I think he is kind of nervous about it, Payton continued. You cant continue from this step. You cant start next chapter. We really do close up the story. But do we really want another Metal Gear without Kojima C and more specifically, without Snake? [Solid Snake] was a burden [for Kojima] because of all those loose ends, Payton said. So when you play Metal Gear Solid 4Ã¥ and when you get to the end, I think youre going to feel that wow, this is a nice closure. All of the weird stuff thats gone on in the past, its all coming to an end. All those weird questions everything is answered. Source

A metal gear without Kojima wouldnt be the same .. Totally agree with that. I wonder who will be the lead character and how will the story advance/start though.

Judging from trailers it seems kind of set up for it in a way. Since they' re seemingly making him " cooler" (which feels a bit forced to me to be honest).

All you Raiden haters are probably going to be stuck with him in future Metal Gear games! I on the other hand have always liked him so it' s all good as they say All hail Raiden!!!

The thing is, if they keep going with Raiden, Metal Gear won' t be the same. Not just because of Snake' s departure, but why would Raiden play it the sneaky way if he is basically superhuman? I think that the best course Konami can take is either remake the MSX Metal Gears or make a game about how Raiden rescues Olga' s daughter (that' s what it says on Sunny' s profile anyway on the MGS4 website) or how Raiden becomes the cyborg he is now.

A metal gear without Kojima wouldnt be the same .. You' re right, ...Twin Snakes was a complete mess. Oh I see what you did right there. MGS4 will be fantastic, but I' m already looking forward to whatever else Kojima has rolled up his sleeves (Snatcher, anybody?). It' s going to be a nice change of pace to see his trademark style applied to something other than stealth games. All hail Raiden!!! I might be one of the few who liked playing Raiden.

I dont think Raiden will be taking the lead since he already took the cyborg role. And maybe he will die too with snake (ill stop here. dont want to speculate anymore). Go Meryl Gear 5! It' s going to be a nice change of pace to see his trademark style applied to something other than stealth games. Like ZOE?

I didn' t mind playing as Raiden either to be honest. I thought that it gave the game something " extra" . We got a chance to see Snake the way others perceive him in a way.

Well, it seems Kojima is thinking of being involved in MGS5 if its created I gotta start thinking about MGS5... Even though, well, Snake' s story ends in MGS4. ...About MGS5, that would be something that Kojima Productions would have to make, I think. Story
