Microsoft Denies " Blu-Ray 360 by Q4 08" Statement

Rumors substantiated. I was wrong about the internal/external issue, according to the Chineese Economic Times, but apparently a Chineese firm has gotten the go-ahead to put Blu-Ray drives in 360s, due to ship fourth quarter in 2008. ______________________________________ UPDATED Rumors subsequently quashed.
" As we have stated, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-ray drive for Xbox 360," said a Microsoft official in an email to GamePro on Monday. " Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available."

I taught Microsoft wasn' t supporting the BD-ROM devices on their 360. Well i guess since the Chinese is doing it it' s okay? Did i miss something.

Remember, this isn' t confirmation, just substantiation of the Blu-Ray 360 rumor.
Microsoft has final say in what goes in their boxes,but they manufacture in China, and one of their Chinese manufacturers/assemblers has apparently gotten the go-ahead to install Blu-Ray drives. I' m still reading into it, so I' m not saying it' s got any weight in particular.

Damn. I wish they would go ahead and announce something already. Everyone knows that its going to happen, but I' d rather not have every fucking game site flooded with rumor bullshit.
