As 2pac noted, simply look at the title...A more detailed reason is I wanna make a short film and the ending sequence is gonna be pretty violent. And since this film is on a tight budget I need to be able to produce realistic gore on the cheap. I want feedback to know if it looks passable. Of course I' m gonna have to do a better job when I get higher quality cameras that can expose a few of my tricks.

Plus I just like gore.

<--This one got me in trouble with a few of my mis-informed friends. I thought the bloods color was off and didn' t think it' s pass for real.

They should be the least of your worries. Do you have a camera and a means of recording decent sound? I' d think those would be your major investments.

The camera isn' t gonna be to hard to find its just the means of deciding which format I want. The main reason I' m making this short film is to test out and perfect everything prior to working on the more serious possibly feature length film. I' m gonna start trolling Universities and A/V specialty places and companies to see if I can possibly get a good deal on out-dated equipment. If that doesnt work then i' ll take adavantage of return polices while I test out equipment.

Just don' t become one of those schmucks who never gets anything done because they always think they need to buy one more piece of equipment. The people who get stuff done work with what they have, no matter how crappy. Then they get experience and make a name for themselves and eventually get to work with better equipment.

Edit: Having said that, do make sure you' re getting better sound than some on-board mic on the camera.

well yeah it looks cool and the angle helps but i just thought it was lame cause all i did was hide my finger under the carpet dressed up the area with gooey food coloring. Different angles would expose this. But hell they resort to these types of tricks in movies so i can' t feel all to bad about it.

I need to start gathering supplies. I' ve forgone a script for my short film and will instead just use a storyboard layout as this film will be more about the camera work and effects rather then the dialog. At least for now. Still need to practice writing good stuff tho.
