DX10 is bullshit.
At the moment it' s nothing more than a tool used to market games and one-up the competition. In order for any benefit to be seen from DX10, we need games to be built for it from the ground up natively, not simply tacked onto an existing DX9 base. Despite what Crytek say, Crysis is not a true DX10 title. Nothing is, nor is anything within the near future (that I can see).
I think it' ll be another couple of good solid years before we' ll see anything ' truly' DX10. Not enough DX10 hardware or software (ie Vista) out there to justify alienating the majority of the market. Until then we' re just going to have to put up with sub par DX10 performance for just about everything.
