GTAIV Release Date?
-

LINK This would make sense as it was believed that the game would have a March or April release.

I' m a relatively new fan of Rockstar' s work. Bully was quite good, and I liked Liberty City Stories for the PSP, but the Hip-Hop/Gangsta thing never did anything for me, so I never did play San Andreas. I' m looking forward to at least a demo of some variety for 4 some time in the future.

San Andreas is easily the worst of the series so far.

But its the only game where the flying dodo bird cheat actually works correctly. IMO, GTA:VC>GTA:SA>GTA:LC>GTAIII>the other shit-tastic GTAs

Vice City is still the best GTA title, but San Andreas was a technical marvel on PS2. It' s just so vast. I think the story was well implimented too, and if you don' t mind the hip-hop/rap setup then you can' t not enjoy it. IV looks great, but April 25th seems like an unusual date, even for the UK. If it wasn' t released in March i wouldn' t have expected it until September/October. It' s probably worth noting that the previous 3 console games were all released in the month of October.

I will completely agree that Vice City is the best so far in the series, but San Andreas ranks below GTA III for me. San Andreas was just way over the top with all of the African American stereotypes in my opinion. I will agree with your Nitro that it was a marvel on the PS2 for the sheer size of the game, along with the huge amount of shit that you could do. Hey, who didn' t love flying their plane up in the air as high as it could go and then parachute out. Or fly into military air space just to see how long you could last before you were finally blown to pieces. Now that was great fun!!!!! Anyway, GTA IV is hopefully going to be far and away the best in the series, and I am really looking forward to seeing how well the story is done.

Hey, who didn' t love flying their plane up in the air as high as it could go and then parachute out. Or fly into military air space just to see how long you could last before you were finally blown to pieces. Now that was great fun!!!!! I agree completely. I have always seen Vice City as a better overall product thanks to the great voice work and story. San Andreas was technically amazing, and had its fair share of good missions, but the endless swearing, stereotypical behavior etc really held it back for me. I also never really got the sense that I was in control of the situations it placed me in. Instead I felt like a tool that people sent to do their work, and in the process I got rich, but never felt powerful. For a guy that owned a car dealership and a casino, he sure never acted like a powerful guy who knew what was up, not at all like Vercetti. The problem is when comparing them is that IMO you have to look at what they were like for the time they came out. If you look at it that way then GTAIII is by far better than all the others. If not, then Vice City and San Andreas are better, and rightfully so, all they had to do was build on an already amazing game. I personally like GTAIII more than San Andreas though, chalk it up to the mob story, the great city, and the overall feel of the game.
