Firefox 3.0 Beta Released!
-
Nov 21, 2007 06:50
Wow... did I mention how not different at all this is? I mean, yeah, the " Places" folder in the bookmarks tab is nice, and the star button in between the address and the " go" button is useful, but I expected something a little... cooler.

lol, Opera. Sorry I prefer a browser that actually loads all the pages I visit. I like the horse analogy for IE though. Everything else is faster, but a good horse can go anywhere if you have sense enough to take it off the damn buggy

I' d be totally happy if I never ended up using 3. I' ve been messing around in it for a day or so, & the Beta' s a tad slower, sucks some more system resources, and really brings nothing new to the table.'

ORIGINAL: nekkid_monkey lol, Opera. Sorry I prefer a browser that actually loads all the pages I visit. You can just spoof as IE if the sites are coded that crappy they they won' t load unless you use are using their desired browser.

Which Opera still does best, if you take a look at it' s compatibility (-> i.e. Acid2 test). 9/10 if a page doesn' t show up properly in Opera it' s because the dev fucked something up and it can be easily fixed by pressing a few buttons to mask it as IE. Only 1/10 (at max) it' s REALLY Opera' s fault for showing the page in a messed up way.

I use barebones IE6 for 10% of everything I do (forum posting being one of them if I' m on the right PC). The rest I use Firefox with a metric-assload of extensions.

Maybe an analogy would help explain why Opera isn' t worth the harddrive space, no matter how small it is. Three automechanics: Mechanic # 1 has been workng on cars since cars existed. When he decides to change a procedure, car designers change car designs to match HIM because he' s just that popular and competent. Industry standard, undisputed. But, he' s a stubborn old bastard. He has a small suggestion box on the door, but he almost never reads any suggestions. When he does decide to read suggestions, he throws 90% of them in the trash. Mechanic #2 is a little younger and more handsome than the first, but equally competent. Plus, he loves suggestions. He' s got a whole second office dedicated to taking suggestions and implementing them. Then there' s Mechanic #3 . He' s a lot younger and he' s undeniably faster than the other two. Plus, he' s got some really cool gadgets in his office. However, about 1%-5% of the time he forgets to put your car back together completely. He' s not really sure how to fix some of the older cars, so he' s got the other two mechanics on speed dial. I simply lack the patience for Mechanic #3. Anyway, where the hell can I download the Firefox Beta?

Opera render' s pages twice as fast and you can browse 50 times faster because the interface is so much better.

Ok if you' re concerned over system resouces off a ***ing BROWSER you need to get a new computer. If My firefox took 10 times more resources than it does now I wouldn' t notice because you know, it takes like 0.0000001% of my computer' s resources. I' m not gonna notice anything if it takes 0.0000010 % instead.

lol if you can' t use a web browser to find it on your own you shouldn' t be commenting on web browsers.
