You don' t care about Backwards compatibility if I remember correctly? I would go for a new 40GB model. If 40GB is not enough 60 GB won' t be much better. Its easy to upgrade HDD later if ever you need to.
I don' t know about you guys but in NA we get Spider-Man 3 with the 40GB model. Movie isn' t that great but it' s not a bad movie to test out Blu-ray. The 40Gb is new and includes a full warrenty. More importantly the 40GB has CELL on a 65nm process as opposed to a 90nm. This isn' t as important as it is with the 360 as the PS3 was designed to work from the start; still it' s a nice bonus. The result is that it draws about 65Watts less, and makes about half the noise of the 20/60/80GB models because the fan doesn' t have to spin as fast to keep the PS3 cool.
60Gb
-BC
-memopry card reader
-4 usb slots as opposed to 2 in the 40GB
40GB
-new, Warrenty
-65nm CELL
-Spider-man 3
I was too impatient to wait a few more days and I wanted Motorstorm so I got the 80GB model. Since I have no PS2 games, I don' t need 2 extra USB ports, and I' ll probably change the HDD to a faster one anyways, I would have been fine with the 40GB model. I just didn' t want to wait two weeks.
Actuallly I would have been better off with the 40GB, aside from it being cheaper, having CELL on 65nm is a real plus for someone who leaves their PS3 running all day. I' m running Folding@Home.
That reminds me? Anyone else running the Folding@Home on their PS3 or computer? I' m on " Team Canada" . But if others are doing it here I' ll start a " Team Kikizo" , or has this already been done?
