What' s with the sci-fi aspects of this game? Does it take place in a VR environment or something? Or is the main character a time traveler?

I think it was said it wasnt a time traveler, but there was a surprise in the game, and most people werent dissapointed

There was an interview with one of the voice actors who let slip that some things that point to its VR, but living out the life of one of your ancestors. Something to do with what your ancestors did/lived effects you and your genetic makeup.

I read that article, it was some dumb blonde voice actor, for Assassin' s Creed.

The main character that you play, I believe, is trapped in the " Real World" and your captors are trying to get information from you through this VR machine they have you in. Something I believe about memories of your ancestors being stored in your DNA. This is why throughout the trailers we have seen so far, you will see DNA strands pop up on screen.

Actually, considering its Ubi, thats a possibility. GRAW, R6, Splinter Cell, and the upcoming Flight Sim and End War are all set in the same universe, why not this also.
