Can the 360 HD-DVD player add-on play HD-DVDs in 1080p? Can anyone actually confirm if it does? And I mean scaling or anything, straight 1080p from the HD-DVD.

It does but not through Component. You need HDMI or VGA through your 360.

Uh serious? Because I can do 1080p with games through component with my 360. Why would it not work with component but with the others?

Actually I' m not sure anymore. I know the add-on can output 1080p. There may be issues with component cables. It looks like the player didn' t have support for 1080p over component at realease but now it does if your TV supports it.

Most HD-DVD players seem to suck when it comes to 1080p capability. Only the most recent players even offer it. The Xbox360 HD-DVD player is extremely old.

I don' t know why a person would support HD-DVD anyways when they know Blu-ray has essentially twice the potential as HD-DVD.
Twice the capacity and twice the read rate, fuck HD-DVD. It needs to die!
