I think in those days i was actually a Sega Fan & not a fan of Nintendo (SHOCK HORROR!). I didn' t own the console (or any console), i rented it out once. The games i remembered was a certain Asterix & Obelix game and a General Chaos. Those were some awesome games. Its too bad i didn' t own a SMS, i was then as i still am now a PC fanboy, but if i did own one my fanboy tendencies could have been very different then they are today.

I think you need to include the MSII...

Master System II owns because it had Alex Kidd in Miracle World built in!

I always preferred the Sega Master System. I thought the console had more of a futuristic look to it. And I liked its light-gun and 3D Glasses WAYYYYYYYYYY better. I also remember the specs being just a tad bit better. I also enjoyed inserting cartridges into the cartridge slot and having them work right away

As far as controllers go, I liked both. I preferred the Master System' s 8-way d-pad but I liked that the NES Controller had Start & Select buttons, allowing you to pause games from the controller instead of having to hit pause on the console.

I agree 100% with Terry.

Also, the Master System 2 should never be mentioned. Not only is it ugly as sin, but it only featured and RF video ouput!

I' ve never seen a Master system with my own eyes. Sega Genesis is the first I' ve seen of Sega.
