Sega Sammy Holdings have announced financial results for the first quarter, posting net losses of 5.08 billion Yen, or USD 42.3 million.

Well screw that.

Losses?? Surprising to a degree, i thoguht they were actually making money releasing all the crap games they' ve put out.

To me Sega pretty much died with the Dreamcast, they are now little more than a shadow of their former selves.

However this period has been pretty taxing on companies who have bet success on ps3 and a lesser extent 360 with underwhelming sales.

No wonder you make losses when you release games like Phantasy Star Universe, Sonic the Hedgehog and Chromehounds. But Sega, before you die, don' t forget you are still owing us one particular game....

Actually I think Sega is developing a good strategy as a publisher right now. More Western-developed games with a good balance of some quality PC developers in the mix. More movie licenses. From a business standpoint I think it looks good. I think they' ve got a good shot to turn things around over the next couple of years, and do some more artistic games along the way.

I wouldn' t want Sega to be bought by MS, Sony or Nintendo and become a console exclusive developer. I' d rather see them be bought by another developer. Capcom would be the best one since they seem to know what they' re doing.

Or a Street Fighter VS Virtua Fighter game LOL

They make SEGA games with the help of their video game sales
(not Sammy' s Pachinko machines), for eg: they make VF6 with
the help of VF5' s sales.

instead making games for kids they should take care more about serious older

I hope they can make Panzer Dragoon Next Gen, Jet Set Radio 2, Street Of Rage 4
and Shenmue 3 before their loyal fanbase die.(We can' t live for always<Fact)
