...because the PS3 versions will all be running at 30fps.

We have confirmed the Xbox 360 versions of Madden NFL 08 (August), All-Pro Football 2K8 (July), and NCAA Football 08 (July) will run at 60 frames per second, whereas the PS3 editions are locked at just 30fps. In the simplest of terms, this means that the 360 versions will run smoother and faster, and you' ll have an easier time noticing subtle animations.

.... I would say the ps3 version probably looks and plays like the 360 versions of 06 and 07. From what Ive heard of 08, it should be bearable if they do what they say they are doing and do it correctly.

The question is, why is 60fps such a big deal for lame sports games? I can see real football & basketball outside with far more than 30 frames-per-second. Why the big deal? In my opinion, the only games that benefit (in gameplay) from 60fps are fighters, racers & online shooters. The rest are more than tolerable at 30.

Madden is a big seller, but to be honest i severely doubt the vast majority of buyers will even know there' s a framerate difference between the versions. It' s like Pro Evolution or Need for Speed in that they sell in high numbers regardless of quality or content.

This is done so the consumers will get identical versions of the game, and since 33-50% of the 360' s die, they must make the PS3-version on half framerate, so the PS3-people won' t get more frames on their version..
