Someone finally made the perfect controller. - Jun 27, 2007 19:34
They finally made a controller that has a joystick for the left hand and a mouse for the right. This one is for PS3 but I hope it catches on and moves to PC. I think it was Zoy that suggested something like this, I thought it was a good idea. When I buy a PS3, I have to get one of these.

Very nice.

All we need now is for games to have fully customizable control setups.

I' m still pissed at Factor 5 for forcing SixAxis...

I suggested that, but maybe zoy did too.

I have no interest in this one since it is for playstation though.
When they do these sort of hack setups it isn' t going to be as good as it would be on a PC. They have to convert the mouse movement to joystick movement and you still have the speed limitations amoung others. I suppose it would still be better than using a jostyick to aim.

For PC all they would need to do is release a one handed joystick. But games don' t support 360 degree movement and analog speed, they only have 8 ways and run or walk, so you wouldn' t gain any advantage in control with it.

I don' t think I would ever buy one for xbox 360, but I would for PC.

You mean you can' t get your head round having such a huge control scope.

That looks great. My suggestion was for it to be a PC controller. Like locopuyo says, they would need to expand the range of directional motion to support 360 degree movement and analog speed -- in addition to retaining the original WASD option for ye olde tymers. But the analog option would add in new dimensions of strategy I' m sure.

Yay. The whole walk/run thing is much better on analog sticks. I wonder how old WASD is. Was it Quake that used it first?

Anyway this thing will be useless unless games are developed with it in mind.

Well, I remember playing Wolfenstein 3d with the arrow keys, which really equates to the same thing. Then there was Doom, Star Wars Dark Forces, Quake, etc.
