I just got in the beta [cheers Mike!] and I know Nitro just got it too, but those who have played it, what do you think?

The controlls take some getting used to, but its a fun game. Still not 100% positive its a good game yet, something about it I dont like, I cant put my finger on it..

I' m loving it. The maps are cool, the gameplay mechanics are cool, even the on-foot and ground vehicle combat is cool. The explosions, smoke, clouds and water look superb, the vehicles and character models look superb and even theough the levels themselves would benefit from higher resolution textures i can' t really complain.

I' ve been looking forward to the game since it' s announcement, and even though i was disappointed when it was announced it would be online-only it' s probably a good thing as it' s no doubt allowed them to focus on balancing the multiplayer.

The learning curve is probably about an hour as there' s so much to take in. Once you' ve figured out what does what and what works best against what, and then mastered the flying controls (which are actually pretty sweet once you get used to them) then you' ll easily be an hour or two in.

I' m glad they didn' t force tilt contol on us. I tried playing it with motion contol on and it sucked. It' s definitely best played with the sticks. It' s fast and reponsive and the air combat is very satisfying.

It' s a combination of Battlefield and Lost Planets multiplayer mode, but it' s cooler because i can stick on the Top Gun soundtrack and pretend i' m a futuristic Maverick...

Warhawk owns!

I' ve been playing it for a couple weeks and I enjoy it. It' s sort of like a faster paced, more deathmatchy version of battlefield, with way better air combat, but not quite as good ground combat.

It gets agravating at times when you get on a death streak or hit a mine etc, but I find that with every online fps style game. I personally like it quite a bit and look forward to playing with all my friends seeing as how vehicles are so plentiful, it would be a blast to travel in a pack of warhawks, jeeps etc.

Oh, and you should be able to turn peoples mics off. I can' t stand hearing some of the stupid kids/adults.

Havn' t got the beta, it' s not my most anticipated game tough..
However I hear that people who have troubles with freeze-up, might have a easier time if you host your own game. :-)

It' s frozen on me once so far, but it' s also ended the game a couple of times and kicked me back to the menu. If you can' t pick up a weapon, or you see somebody who appears to not be in control (say spinning around on the spot) then quit the game before it crashes.

Hopefully they' ll fix the issue soon. They do maintenance on Mondays right?

Wasnt your ps3 messing up a few days back? Perhaps its just your console... unless this is a common issue

t' s something wrong with the code, on Neogaf, there is better tips on how to avoid it, they hope it get' s fixed on monday tough...
Tip there involves leaving game immediately, when people run over weapons and don' t pick them up, or running around in circles uncontrolled, I think.

I' ve also had the freezing issues, and I' ve tried it on three ps3' s so far. Like others said though, its pretty easy to avoid if you quit as soon as you notice people that don' t take damage, move in loops, or can' t pick up weapons. Since I quit when things like that go wrong, I usually only get random disconnects here and there.

All in all though, the rest of the game works great, so it' s nice that it only has that one issue, which to my knowledge is being addressed.

most games give me a really high ping, I have yet to play a 32 player map. Oh and does anybody else notice the watery/robtoic voices almost like white noise in the backround? to vaint to hear but i guess if you listened closey enough you could make out voices.

Thnakfully People talk in this game, unlike the super quiet motorstorm and resistance.

Uh huh *nods*, and it' s a pain in the ass!

I figured out how to boost last night. It certainly helps when avoiding missile fire.

I wonder how many maps, skins, wepons etc... are missing from the beta. It' s more extensive than the Halo 3 beta (which i played only a handful of times) and arguably more fun, but i' d like to know that there will be much more content in the retail release...

turn on pro flight mode, makes it much more manageable!. i think the deathmatchs with just the warhawks are easily the most fun.

How do you know which game people on your friends list are playing in?

Sony need a system like Microsoft' s where invites can be sent or accepted from the guide and then you' re instantly dropped into the correct lobby.

Silent was briefly in the same game as me on Saturday (?) and then disappeared. Then when i saw he was playing yesterday i couldn' t figure out how to drop into the game he was playing in. It' s all very annoying...

Its easy finding an old lady walking alone somewhere, just beware if she has a cane!

The old ladies in my neighborhood have threaded barrels on the ends of their canes.

I' m honestly considering buying a broken one & seeing what I can do with it. I' ve had multiple expenses come out of freaking nowhere in the past month, & it' s not looking like I' ll be buying a PS3 over the summer as originally planned.

I' m sure you can find alot of uses with a broken cane, however it' s much cheaper to just find yourself a stick. :)
