After a mere 6 months, Sony has created a very real online presence.

Straight from Gamer' s Day, we' ve got the numbers of Sony' s online world. First off, over 1.5 million users have created online accounts, with 775,000 coming from North America (we don' t know if these are individual PS3s, as some people have multiple accounts for differing regions).

At this 6 month mark, Microsoft had only 500,000 users on Xbox Live. For those of you who think that' s not a fair comparison, the 500,000 number also includes the free silver edition.

Wait wait wait...there was Gold and Silver memberships when Live was first introduced?

If they are talking about Gold and Silver, then they must be talking about only the numbers since the release of the 360. So 500,000 new users in the 6 months period on top of the previous installed base. Regardless tho 1.5 million is a nice number to hit in a mere 6 months I guess... can some one with facts tell me if thats an amazing feat or not dammit?

How much easier, or harder, is it to create an account on the PSN?

Smart pr trick by sony. Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs! What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.
