" No Spore Until 2009?
Electronic Arts shatters dreams of Will Wright fans.

UK, May 9, 2007 - It seems there may be bad news for those anticipating Will Wright' s latest opus, Spore, this year - Electronic Arts has announced the game mightn' t see a release until 2009.

As part of its post-earnings report, according to Reuters, EA has removed Spore from its financial projections for the fiscal year ending in March 2008, noting that the game could be delayed until fiscal 2009 - which ends in March 2009.

Originally, the PC game had been touted to appear this year - along with a rumoured DS version - however this now looks highly unlikely.

EA also reported that its net revenue for fiscal 2007 was a mighty $3.091 billion - up five percent on the previous year - and gross profits weighed in at $1.879 billion. Although we guess that information probably won' t cheer you up about Spore." -IGN

Harsh. Think about how many cookie-cutter sequels are going to come out in that span of time.
