First Line game
-
May 07, 2007 00:16
Ok this could be a disaster on these boards, but it was fun at work, so I' ll bring it here. Simple. Give the first line of a POPULAR song and the next person guesses it. Because this is a multi-cultured crowd, I' ll make it a little easier. Genre- year - quote. For example Rock 1968 " Please allow me to introduce myself, I' m a man of wealth and taste" would be Rolling Stones " Sympathy for the Devil" ok, let' s do this Rap 1993 " Just wakin' up in the morning gotta thank God. I dunno but today seems kinda odd."

" Just wakin' up in the morning gotta thank God. I dunno but today seems kinda odd." Ice Cube, Good Day to Die if I remember correctly. (Hated Ice Cube but my cousin' s in love ) " Some say you' re a troubled boy Just because you like to destroy All the things that bring the idiots joy Well, what' s wrong with a little destruction?" Edit: I' m suprised Majik didn' t get to that one.

Franz Ferdinand - The fallen. Folk / hippy type music 1968 (but it is a classic) " I am just a poor boy and my stories seldom told. I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles such are promises."

This isnt really contributing to anything, but what if no one gets it? Does the thread just die or do we move on to a new song?

Whoa, people are actually playing? I had given up on this thread In 1965 Vietnam seemed like just another foreign war, but it wasn' t Paul Hardcastle - " 19" Classic. this damn song' s been in my head lately: 1995 Alternative " The World is a vampire, sent to drain. Secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames And what do I get, for my pain?" the hardest part of this game is deciding when to stop the quote...

That day I' ll always remember, yes I will. ' Cause that was the day that my daddy died.
