this game has good ratings and it' s yet to be released, and when it does, it costs only $20!!!!!! Why is a good game at a low price?

NFL 2K5 has been out for a week or so. I should know since I have it...unless you meant one of the other ESPN games. NHL is gonna only be 20 and very likly NBA.

Oi ya forgot about the diversity in this forum:)

The game being 20 dollars is rather odd since I wouldve bought this game for 50 its on par if not better then other football games out or coming out.

The budget price will definatly help on the xbox. Until recently only ESPN and Microsoft had online sports games for xbox, now with EA on board, ESPN would need somin to keep them from getting overtaken.

I cant think of many other reasons for the price, and im sure the reason I presented isnt it at all.

I cant wait for NBA 2k5.

ESPN Videogames came out and spoke about the lower price. They basically said that we have come out with a game that was on par or better than Madden (by reviews), had online gaming when EA didn' t, but still couldn' t break into the mainstream of sports gaming.

They figured that having such a low price point was the only way to get people to take notice of their product. I think that it has been very effective. I was always a 2K fan, but it never really caught on. Now you are hearing people that were Madden/ EA drones talk about and buy the game and now they are feverishly awaiting the NHL and NBA game.

It is a great bit of strategy because a low price will always bring people in.

^yep, the $20 price tag was an awesome move by Sega. It may lead a minority to ask themselves " 20 bucks? This must not be a very good game" . But, it will get their name out as a quality product and an alternative to the increasingly boring madden IMO

On a side note, this title will be one of the first online games to support the playstation 2 HDD, good work sega!

Unless you' re a die hard Madden fan that can accept last year' s re-hash (admittedly with a few improvements), then you should take a serious look at ESPN 2005.

The reviews rate it higher than Madden in many categories...

Here' s a link that will provide an unbiased comparison of these two games:

Happy reading...

I wonder how well this game sold.. Haven' t heard anything yet so I kinda fear the worst... It' s amazing how the series was incredibly popular on the Dreamcast but is struggling tremendously on the more popular consoles.
