for anyone who can help me with this. This one' s for the more technologically inclined, I just picked up an Xbox 360, and I' ve been trying to log on to Xbox live for the past two days, and I finally figured out what info I was missing, but I' ve got no clue where to find it. The infernal box says I' m missing #s for my " subnet mask" and " gateway" so it recognises i' ve got a hardline connection, but the log-on stops at the IP verification, because I don' t have those numbers. Anyone know where I can find ' em on my PC?

1. Start Menu
2. Run
3. Type " command" in the text line
4. In the window that pops up type " ipconfig/all"
5. The look for subnet mask and gateway in the info prestented when it comes up.
6. close window by typing " exit"

Like he said that should help up but I don’t see why you would need all of that are you going wireless but even then it shouldn’t matter can I ask what are you trying to do.

Dose your ISP require you to log in with a password. are you using an router do you have an hardware firewall

Are you trying to log on Xbox live behind your college firewall

call your isp to get this info if all else fails

I use a router for my high speed connection so I dont need to enter a password and user name. I let the Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2 do auto searches.

Also, hes not goign wireless, he said he had a hardline connection. As do I.

If your not using a router, i suggest you get one! if not you might be needing to type in your PPOE settings, such as password and username, some ISP use it though not all!

This is true, when I didn' t have my 4 port router i had to enter all this information, but if you do have a router make sure to not have those fields entered sometimes things can be finnicky. [unrelated]For instance my router didnt allow any connentions whatsoever because I had simply entered my ISP' s name into the router, once removed it worked perfect.
