Do we get to keep the films/episodes forever? Or is this just like a rental thing. £3.60 for HD V for Vendetta for keeps sounds pretty good compared to getting it on DVD for like a tenner.

bleaugh, not much I wanna see. But when things do show up, what am I gonna do about the limited space on my harddrive? Is there a way to copy the files to an external storing device?

No, it is a rental type of system. You can keep it for up to a week, but as soon as you play it once the code for the download is only good for another 24 hours.

*Wonders what kind of security features are in place to prevent him from plugging his Xbox 360 to his laptop and recording the downloaded movies/shows to it and burning them to blank DVDs to view anytime he wants*

From my understanding thats with movies but tv episodes are permanent. Or is that wrong and its all rental?

Are eddie and me the only ones who know of Datel' s transfer kit?

I dont have to much to say about the video marketplace. Most of the shows I can get for free with On-Demand. And since the movies are only one time rentals...the cost will just add up to much. Tho if I had a massive ass entertainment system and had some friends over to enjoy a good full HD quality movie then it' s nice to have around as an option...if I didnt have an HD-DVD player already...

On a side note I am taking my HDDVD player back. Tho not because its bad or anything. I really dont have the entertainment system that could fully utilize such a thing yet. MmmMMm I do love havig that option you know...whether or not I want an HD player. Certainly saved me some cash...

On yet another side note...I was thinking. You get the 360 universal remote ($30) and a copy of King Kong ($20) so wouldnt that mean the HDDVD is only $150? Of course thats not entirely true but still.

Anyhow back on topic yet again. I do enojy the menu system theyve implemented into the video market. Every section seems to have its own theme run in the background. Nothing special but just a nice little touch.

Mmmm... yup, think so.

Seriously people, they' re like 15 bucks, even less on Ebay. There' s no excuse for buying their (rumoured) 80 gig HDD, I know I won' t. This is really good news though, I' m actually DL-ing as we speak.

I' m glad " Invader Zim" is still getting a little bit of limelite. Anybody else here a raving Zim fanboy?

UH-OH. Looks like a lot of people are having problems with the downloads! Problems are ranging from un-bearably slow downloads (no doubt, attributable to loads of people trying it out for the first time) to people getting the wrong item or nothing at all!

Same shit happend to me with the iTunes watchamacallit shop. Then it wasn' t about alot of cash, as it was just about one song, but it still pissed me off. I eventually bought the whole CD, and found that they had named about every song on the album wrong and that left me with such a bad taste in my mouth that I never shopped there again. Pissrats!

Picked up an episode of Southpark to see how it goes. The D/L took about 1.5-2 hours for the 26 minute episode. Not bad really about on par with other new items of similar size. Dunno how well the movies go have to check that later.

I got a couple episodes of South Park and it turned out to be very good quality. For a couple bucks a piece and being able to pick out individual episodes I think this is a pretty good service. Probably won' t be using it all that often especially with the limited HD room but it' s a nice feature.

Itd be nice to purchase the movies rather then just a one time rental. Honestly if movie distributers cut out all the physical parts of the process and just had the movie data to distribute how much would a movie cost on its own? No disc, no fancy box, no guess work on supply and demand. Just the movie a one time upload to get d/l a million times over.
