Western games

This is a question about the genre of western games, not games developed in North America and Europe! I always like this time when a new generation of consoles comes along because I go back to the previous generation and start playing some good games that I missed when they first came out. Anyhow, I' ve been watching a lot of the old Clint Eastwood ' spaghetti western' movies recently and was wondering if anyone had played Gun and Red Dead Revolver and which one they would recommend. Also I' ll probably be checking out Oddworld: Stranger' s Wrath for a more twisted western experience.

Definatlely Strangers Wrath, its great. I didnt particularly care for GUN or Red Dead Revolver, but if I had to choose one I would say GUN is better.

Sunset Riders! I loved that game so much. The second I found a copy of it for SNES I snapped it up. As far as the OP, I have played Red Dead Revolver, and watched a friend play Gun. From what I' ve seen and heard, Gun is more of a free roaming, though still guiding you along a fairly linear story. Red Dead Revolver forces you along in the story, the only thing you have the option of is what you buy and what guns you use. I thoroughly enjoyed Red Dead Revolver, as it had some good action, and an enjoyable storyline. Gun received about the same reviews so I imagine its a good game as well, and my friend who had it enjoyed it a lot. I would say both games are worth playing, especially considering they must be pretty cheap atm.

...dude i' m pretty sure both titles suck muncho monkey a$$... ...if you' re after a good resent-ish Western style shooter, check out Darkwatch: Curse of the West.. ...it was far better received than either title, and even features the Delectable Ms. Rose McHotness as a starring VA...

See, I hated Darkwatch. However I enjoyed Red Dead Revolver. Too each his own I guess. Gun, RDR, and Darkwatch all got about the same reviews though.

...no not you, i was recommending DW to the thread starter, but yea, personal preference will always dictate... ..although i' m pretty sure that DW in general did much better that Gun or RDR.... ...btw, do any of you industry-types know if there' ll be a sequel? ...DW is the kind of title you expect to do well if given a second outing....
