This is seriously getting rediculous. Does every household in Japan own 6 PS2s now? I mean come on! It' s been out for years and years and it' s still selling tens of thousands or units a week over there. It doesn' t make sense. They are either collecting them like mad or all their PS2s are faulty and they keep having to buy new ones.

Me and my friend' s theory is that because the PS2' s don' t last very long that most of those are people having to re-buy another PS2 to play their games. I am on my 2nd PS2 and that is crapping out on me and my friend is the same and i heard some people at the game store say they are on their 4th and stuff. We treat our PS2 good we never drop them and they always just sit there and never move but the they just die.

I think I might be one of the lucky few cause my PS2 is built like a tank! That thing has weathered many storms, and I' ve left it on for weeks on end with no problem. My GameCube on the other hand died after being left on for 3 days. Well the drive would spin at startup and then stopped spinning whenever it came time to load up the games.

I got my PS2 for Christmas last year, and haven' t had any problems yet (knock on wood). I' d have to say, I' ve never had any problem with game consoles, other than the occasional blowing in the NES cartridge (don' t act like I' m the only one!). Of course I' ve never owned a Playstation before, and my friend ALWAYS had problems with their PS1s.

My PS2 and PSP have been through some crap. My PS2 just randomly ejects, and the disc tray just opens at any given time when I' m playing something. I checked all I could, but I guess my PS2 is just a poor dumbard.. I just recently aquired a huge scratch across the screen of my PSP, and it gets in the way of the game; you can see a thin white streak across my Lumines.. I literally sobbed and had a fit after I dropped it.. off my couch.... onto the carpet.. My Xbox, Gamecube, GBA and DS are hard as rocks. Especially my Xbox and DS. I dropped my Xbox off the entertainment center, which is about six feet high, and I didn' t even see a scratch. It has suffered the most accidents in my house, but always looks good as new. My gamecube is well built too, and it fell down a couple of times, but was fine. But my DS is a tank! I once dropped the system down a flight of stairs at school, because I was knocked into while playing. It flew to the floor, and all I see is a small scratch on the rear of the lid!! Awesome.. And my GBA has been beat up too.. but is fine.

haha damn dude you need to take better care of your stuff. You do know the DS has a strap to try and avoid being dropped.

I try to take care of my stuff!! But just when I think playing on a couch is as safe as it gets, one system manages to drain more out of the pool..
