Looks like 13 bootleggers got busted for trying to sell Superman. Are these guys stupid trying to sell it the first day of the movie? Jerry Seinfeld would be sad.

Thirteen people were arrested in raids across New York City yesterday as part of an FBI strike on two movie piracy rings that authorities said specialised in sneaking digital camcorders into cinemas and shooting hit films, then duplicating and distributing millions of bootlegs worldwide.

Officials said the rings had been operating since 1999 and were believed to be responsible for nearly half of all illicit recordings made in the US.

Some of the DVD knockoffs included the FBI warning seen at the start of legitimate discs - " No small irony," said Mark Mershon, head of the FBI' s New York office, at a news conference.

You know, it' s funny, but a friend of mine gets us into the movie theater after it' s closed, and we watch movies before they come out. We saw a couple of movies like that, and I could' ve seen Superman early, but I couldn' t go.

But it would be SO easy to take a camcorder in after hours and set it up perfectly and make money off bootlegs. I' m not into that type of thing, though (I do enjoy seeing the movies for free, though!)

I enjoy opportunities to see a movie early (legally), but yeah, you shouldn' t mess with Hollywood because they' re getting pretty harsh with the punishments these days.

Is it 20 years they give now?
