It would be awesome, yes, but when will the consumers get to have it? 3001 AD?

The Kopin BDM-230K, a complete binocular video subsystem, delivers crisp, full-color, QVGA-quality (320 x 240 resolution) video with a virtual image equivalent to a 35-inch display viewed from a seven-foot distance. lol thats rubbish.

As cool as Virtual Reality has been made out to be over the some many many years. It really hasn' t come that far. The technology for it is very limited and that' s why game consoles have conquered over it. Every time I visit a Virtual Reality site, it' s always limited to this area that you can go to or you can create your own unique area where ppl can visit it. I have yet found a Virtual Reality site/server that offers full 3d with powerhouse graphics that the server can handle and have that many users on it at once. It' s really almost freaking impossible but with this so called " cell" technology it might get its chance to shine now. I still expect to see Virtual Reality or compare it to Star Trek Enterprise holodeck. Sure we can' t walk right there but on the computer screen it would look gorgeous. I don' t know maybe, I' m asking too much right now.

All I am reading is that the developing company has re-invented the visor technology so it' s affordable for home use. Doesn' t sound that impressive to me...
