Sorry but I can' t stand for this!
VF4 offers INFINITELY more depth than Soul Calibur and and every other 3D fighting game out there, it is just a matter of investing time and effort into it to see why and reap the rewards in terms of pure gameplay euphoria.
The chances of truly appreciating its depths without good players to challenge is minimal. It is best appreciated in the arcades - but VF4 Evolution for PS2 is perfect if the arcade players you wanna play (i.e. your pals) are in your home.
And while many argue VF
3 was a step backwards, I have never heard anyone argue VF4 was a step backwards... it' s in fact considerably more complex than VF3, while offering more accessibility by removing a button (but not its function)
VF4 Evo offers the opportunity to see the fights of the best players in the world. I suggest watching some of these and attempting to learn what you see - if you get anywhere close you' ll start to understand a) how deep and b) how satisfying this game can be.
Virtua Quest / Cyber Generation is nothing like the fighting games, anyway - but it does look cool especially if you' re a big fan of the fighting series.
