The DS has a good year, but as of right now the PSP is dominating. Don' t even start calling me a fanboy either, as I have both.

I would hardly call the psp Dominating when the ds is outselling it often 2:1.

The reason why the DS sells by the bucket load is that it is child friendly, with child friendly games.

GX: Spirit Caller Metroid Prime: Hunters Children of Mana Dr Kawashima' s Brain Training Tetris DS Elite Beat Agents 42 All-Time Classics Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time Super Mario 64 Trauma Center: Under the Knife Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Justice for All Lost In Blue 2 Polarium Pokémon Dash Electroplankton Age of Empires: The Age of Kings Advance Wars: Dual Strike Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Zoo Keeper Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits (Nintendo DS) Megaman ZX Wario Ware: Touched! PSP owns... Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror WipEout Pure Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Tekken: Dark Resurrection Ridge Racer Ridge Racer 2 Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Lumines II Killzone: Liberation LocoRoco Daxter Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Hot Shots Golf 2 Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception Lumines Burnout Dominator Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Virtua Tennis World Tour Virtua Tennis 3 Pursuit Force SSX On Tour The Warriors Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max Mega Man Powered Up Every Extend Extra Gradius Collection Chili Con Carnage Mega Man Maverick Hunter X Twisted Metal: Head-On Monster Hunter Freedom Metal Gear Acid 2 Metal Slug Anthology Guilty Gear Judgment Tokobot OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast Death Jr. 2: Root of Evil Gitaroo Man Lives! Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Mercury Meltdown ...with ease! But seriously, why does one have to be better than the other? There' s nothing on DS that' s better than Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Portable Ops or Vice City Stories, ...and there' s nothing on PSP that' s better than Elite Beat Agents, New Super Mario Bros or Wario Ware: Touched! If you know what i mean.

ORIGINAL: Emotep There is no R4PSP. That' s true. PSP doesn' t require additional hardware for emulators and homebrew...

I' m not talking about market share. Pokémon Dash Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller Tetris DS Zoo Keeper You were really hoping I just wouldn' t read the majority of your list weren' t you? The DS has tons of good games, but while fun, the majority don' t keep my attention for very long. I can hear the argument that you' re not usually playing handhelds for that long, but I tend to kick back on the couch with mine & relax for an hour or so.

The DS has a great mix of quick Fix games and Games that you can play for hours. Also ive noticed in contrast to PSP, DS has the control in both types of games with perfection, while PSP have alot of control problems. I still play: Metroid (by far the best Handheld FPS). A very deep, long game. Also has an extremely hardcore online community going. Animal crossing, again a very involving deep single player game, with a good online community going on. NSMB one of the most perfect handheld games I’ve played and has lasted a good 8 months so far. The design puts all other handheld Plattformers to shame. Advanced Wars , Pure genius handheld gaming. very deep. Again by far the best in it’s genre. Mario kart DS one of the best handhelds games, period. I’m still playing this either in time trials, online or link-up. Again, by far the best in it’s genre. Tetris DS vs Hardcore Japanese players over wfi = Priceless. PSP = milked down Console games with control Problems. I gave up on mine ages ago. Portable ops controls nearly had me throw it against a wall. grr

The last game i tried to play on psp i played smackdown vs raw 2007 on my friends psp. I chose a specialty match and just for that reason it made it load 5x as slow. It took around 8 min to load, and then i realized that i had ring entrances on which were another 5 min, and then when i actually played it was just like every other smackdown game... get your opponent on the ground and constantly do the same move over and over until you can pin them That whole experience made me hate it forever

I played Electroplankton the other day. A very cool experience. More of a pastime than a game. Frankly I think we need more things that are just creative and interactive rather than always following the same goal-oriented paradigm that' s been regurgitated for 30 years in this industry.

R4DS It' s a third-party cart that lets you run homebrew off the DS. I have one myself. Personally, a DS that isn' t tricked out with third-party software isn' t all that great IMO. My R4DS has made my DS into an almost Palm-like organizer, media player, Ebook/Comicbook viewer, and decent web browser (though nothing on the PSP' s of course). Not to mention all the SCUMMVM games Sure the PSP can run it too, but he DS is far suited to point-and-click games with its touchscreen than the PSP' s analogue control. Plus, I thought the PSP needed something like HEN (Homebrew Enabler or something like that...) on specific firmware to get homebrew working?

Sounds interesting. Only reason i haven' t bought a DS already is i don' t agree with its size. Its too f**king big for my liking. IMO its definately not pocket size which is why the psp is also out of the equation. I mean if you have to pack your wallet, your keys, your phone and a DS in your pants you got some serious overcrowding happening there . If you use a bag or case that to me is too much effort to carry a ' portable device' . I simply opted for a PDA phone, sure the games are crap (pocket Simcity nice) but it means i only have to put 3 things in my pocket and it does a decent job with multimedia, mp3s etc. If i had a DS then this sounds like something i would get.

The lite' s about as small as my PSP. I played Electroplankton the other day. A very cool experience. More of a pastime than a game.
That' s actually what I feel about my DS games right now. They' re tons of fun, but right now I want something a little different. In 3 months or so, I' ll probably be back to aggressively playing my DS, that' s just how I work I guess.

Sonic Rush Jump Superstars pwns almost all these games in my opinion. I really want Jump Ultimate Stars! Damn you ebayers! Anywhooo both handhelds have their own advantages and disadvantages, just like every other gaming system. So I don' t get why everybody keeps going " this one is better... bla bla bla" . Personally, I prefer the Gameboys. PS. I quite like the strategic element of Yu-Gi-Oh...
